Not very far from the Parrot geoglyph that Wil Faust discovered, near the large impact basin in the southern highlands of Argyre Basin, is another interesting formation....in the shape of a Jack Ass. Notice the large ear(s), eye, muzzle, withers along the neck and open mouth (Figure 1). He wears a bridle and the crater, between the ear(s) may represent the remains of a straw hat. This beast of burden on Mars may represent the Egyptian god Set (as a donkey) and the disk-shaped formation on his head may be a reference to the sun god Horus (as a sun disk). Here is a small Egyptian sculpture of a young Horus (the sun) riding on a representation of Seth, as a donkey. Earthenware with turquoise-blue glaze. Private Collection, France. The sculpture shows the victory of the Horus over Set. GJH
