George, this is a major obfuscational mess. Besides the floating rocks and phoney sand, the main outcrop, and ' door ', don't even exist in the original pic.
I am however quite aware of the pics contents, having already done a prelim study set of this condition, but from a lack of any assistance or directions in the last try to post, would decline the attempt again this time? Cheers / -M

More computer power was used, but the same tampered pic scene is still there, a little detail improvement perhaps, including the ' rectangular door-like " precision incision " in the rock .. which has also been carried forward in the Gigapan of Sol 439 and, in my opinion, is still a computer generated fabrication of an originally pristine pic. After 400+ posts examining such NASA ' public releases ' I do not feel any disconfidence in my appraisal at all. /-M

GJH Hi There, new member here. I took a look at the giga pan image and made this smaller part  Notice the sharp angle of the shade to the right and above the doorway. It has the 'look' of pixel manipulation (and so does the rock surface texture and color). I think of this as a fake hide of what they really don't want you to see. If I wanted to hide something on a picture without getting caught, I would put an obviously 'poor' attempt at showing something else interesting over that which needed to be hid. Nothing to see here, move along! So what is it that we are not suppose to see here? |
