Here is a Mars Curiosity image showing what looks like a bolt (left box) and a triangular plate with an L-shaped piece of rebar sticking out of it (right box)...on Mars Yes....on Mars. Link: mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl-raw-images/msss/00392/mcam/0392ML1618004000E1_DXXX.jpgNote: Brian Hopjins alerted TCI of the triangular plate with an L-shaped piece of rebar sticking out of it - which was originally found by Angela Davis. I didn't notice the bolt George, nice find. My first impression of the bent object on the right was that it is a nail (bent).

Now that is pretty cool, I expected to see more of this type of stuff from the rovers ongoing like it was at Pathfinder. I guess they have been able to avoid previously populated areas until now?

WOW! A scrap yard and a bone yard all in one place. Possibly a dried sea-bed.
Can anyone point me to a TIFF of this photo. Not being funny but I've just about given up looking at JPG renditions because the picture quality is so poor, especially when NASA often publish a comparatively good quality TIFF alongside their JPGs.

A great deal of obfuscation permeates this pic, but some detail, such as the ' rebar ' , managed through intact. There is much debris littering this site, which bears the signature of a detonated device of considerable power. The entire pic is in fact filled with anomalies, and have chosen a scene, a little to the left of the rebar area, to example this. Is there in fact a seated-figure, besides many, in the center of this picture? Cheers / -Morbius ************************

The second view of the bolt and L-shaped rebar - Sol 393 was released yesterday. Attached is a sided by side view of the images Sol 392 and Sol 393 matched to scale. Note the second view - Sol 393 - shows the bolt as a rock and the bent, L-shaped rebar has been reduced to a rod.... GJH Attachments:
