Along the 30th parallel

This starts a look at several different strips from the same general area. I looked at this area 20 years ago by simply moving along the 30th parallel. We see here on Earth that parallel is very active and very important overall. I propose that it is also important on Mars. This first image is CTX: B04_011265_2115_XI_31N038W

These are the first three strips I looked at and the 2115 is the first to be fully examined.



This is an arrow on an oval mesa pointing northwest...




This is a view of the city area the arrow points directly through the main structures from bottom to top....

Here is my analysis of the Oval Mound with Arrow Marker (Figure 1).

The oval mound has a very thick rim and the arrow appears to be a little damaged and jagged, kind of star-like. What ever its original shape was, its large arm still points up in a northwestern direction aligning with the structures above.

There are many Mound Builder sites in North America that have their structures in a circular pattern. Here is a site known as the Jordan Mounds in Louisiana (Figure 3a) that has its mounds in a circular alignment, much like we see at the 30th Parallel Site.

Here is an expansive view of the 30th Parallel Site utilizing Miller's angle suggested by the arrow marker and I added an northern line and found that the angle between a and b is 19.5 (Figure 4).

Here is a context map of the 30th Parallel Site notating some of most interesting structures labeled A - G (Figure 5).

Jumping up to Mound E, the formation consists of a large oval-shaped mound and a smaller Broken Pyramid sitting on a large foot-shaped platform (Figure 6).

Notice the eastern side of the platform is rounded while the western side has a very straight edge. The oval-shaped mound has a narrow, flat plateau that runs along the top of the formation. The Broke Pyramid appears to have been a 4-sided pyramid at one time, but one of its sections (faces) has been destroyed. There are also 3 craters on the southeastern side of the platform that consecutively get smaller and smaller.



Here is a similar oval-shaped earthen mound, with a flat, central platform - known as Temple Mound A - that can be compared to Mound E on Mars (Figure 7). Temple Mound A is found at the Kolomoki Mounds site in Gerogia that dates to 30AD.

racultee has some information from his research on the Zia Symbol Global Mapping project that has led him to the 30 degree on earth for different important sites for indigenous peoples. reach out to him when you get a chance. Since that conference didn't happen in Albuquerque, it would be great to setup a virtual or in person meeting with you George to discuss his math and then take a look at Mars again.

You're close George, it's designed with the same global mapping technique of our ancient ancestors. The 30th parallel & a pointer to 19.50 (a directional number). Go to the place that is 19.50 (according to my chart this is at 35th latitude) there should be a mountain at the end of an alignment at the 35th parallel (Mount Fuji in Japan, Mount Tipton outside Kingman Az. Humphreys Peak outside flagstaff, Mount Taylor in NM and the Needle of the Sandias are all located at the 35th latitude). On Earth Mount Ararat at the 39th latitude was considered sacred to the Tepes.

Here is a closer look at Mound B, within the 30th Parallel Site (Figure 8).

Notice the formation consists of an elongated, triangular structure (trapezoid) that sits on an elevated, circular platform.

Here is Mound C (Figure 9).

Notice the small "crater" at the bottom, looks a lot an eye and the dark, sharp form above it, at the top, looks like a squinting eye in shadow.

When I rotate the formation 85 degrees to the right a bifurcated mask is revealed....(Figure 10).

Here is a duplication of the left side of Mound C (Figure 11). Notice the circular-shaped head may represent a hamster. It has round eyes, with pupil and iris. It has a muzzle and mouth and the ears are formed by the dark area on the head. It also has a fan-shaped decorative feature on its forehead.

Here is a duplication of the right side of Mound C (Figure 12). The square-shaped head has a broad muzzle, a snarling mouth, squinting eyes and a flaming mane.

Notice the totemic face at the bottom of the Feline head.

Here is my analysis of Mound D.

The formations appears to be an oval platform with a two pointed star/arrow feature at its center (Figure 13).
