A large pyramidal formation with an extended platform was discovered in the Promethei Terra region of Mars by independent Mars researchers, Keith Laney back in 2019. The area is located in the southern region of Mars, just to the east of the massive Hellas basin. Laney posted his enhancement of the image in the Mars Orbitals section of his Giga Pan galleries on Apr 27, 2019. The MRO HiRISE CTX image that Laney used was taken in the September 2011, with a resolution of 5.7 meters per pixel. Here is my enhancement of the image (Figure 1). Figure 1. Promethei Terra was named after the Greek god Prometheus. Prometheus was the Titan warrior that stole fire from Zeus and gave it to man. For this crime, Prometheus was chained to a rock and an eagle ate his liver anew every day.
Therefore, I have decided to call this pyramid the Prometheus Pyramid.

The overall shape of the Prometheus Pyramid with its extended platform and its scalloped apron reminds me of the Great Pyramid (Figure 2), built by the Olmec in La Venta, Mexico.
