The Raptor Zone Complex

In the summer of 2018, independent researcher Jean Ward proclaimed he had found strange pyramidal and geometric structures in the Elysium Planitia region of Mars - as recorded in a 2008 Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter HiRISE CTX image P20_008753_1876_XN_07N211W.


Here is the first example of one of these strange structures that I call the Raptor Head (Figure 1)

Notice the thick neck, the sharp crested head and the hooked beak, resembles a cubic rendering of a raptor head. There is also evidence of a teardrop-shaped eye feature at the base of the beak. I also offer a colorized version for your review.

Below the Raptor Head geoglyph is very symmetrical, pyramidal formation that has a conjoined mound attached to its lower side (Figure 2).

Notice the four jagged spins that run down the formation, from its summit. They separate its four triangular faces, while a crescent-shaped mound sits attached to its south-western side.

Directly below the Four-sided Pyramid with Conjoined Mound is another set of geometrically designed structures (Figure 3). This set of structures includes a long segmented formation sitting next to a circular and square-shaped mound.

The Segmented Mound is very symmetrical and the spaces between each of the vertical spines appear to be evenly spaced. It is also interesting to find a circular mound setting right next to a square, four sided pyramid.

Moving further down from the Segmented Mound with Circle and Square is another highly symmetrical square-shaped formation (Figure 4).

Notice this square-shaped mound has an odd grove cut across its eastern side and shallow, circular imprint just to the north east of its center. The circular imprint and the grove may have been caused by a structural collapse. Its north eastern side has an extended, truncated neck that extends out like the ramp of a Ziggurat.

Just to the east of the Segmented Mound with Circle and Square Mound (Figure 3) is a polygonal-shaped mound formation (Figure 5). Notice the outer contours of the formation have an overall pentagonal shape with a softened peak on the western side.

The pentagonal mound has smooth, highly reflective western side that is bracketed by triangular supportive facets on its north and southern sides. The center appears to have a collapsed leaving a slopping indentation along its eastern side.

Here is a comparison of the Raptor Head geoglyph with a Heraldic portrait of a crested eagle (Figure 6).

Notice the curved beak and the feathered crest of the Heraldic Eagle.

The placement of the Raptor Head geoglyph may have been built as a “calling card”, like has been suggested of the Cydonia Face. It could have been used as a marker or beacon alerting orbital travelers that a settlement was located below.

The Four-sided Pyramid with Conjoined Mound can be compared to the Pyramid of the Moon at Teotihuacan, Mexico (Figure 7).

Notice the small stepped platform that extends from the Pyramid of the Moon is similar to the small mound that is conjoined with the Four-sided Pyramid on Mars.

Here is a comparison of The Segmented Mound with Circle and Square Mound with both ancient and contemporary architecture (Figure 8).

The Segmented Mound, of the group, looks very much like a segmented dome, structure produced by the Danish artists' group N55 and architect Anne Romme. The circular domed formation of the group can be compared to a large circular mound produced in Ohio by the Adena Indians. The square-shaped pyramidal formation of the group can be compared to a four-sided pyramid found in Xianyang Pyramid in China.

Just to the east of the Segmented Mound with Circle and Square Mound is a highly geometrically shaped formation that I have called the Polygonal Formation which, like the D&M Pyramid at Cydonia, can also be compared to the five-sided Pentagon located in Washing D.C. (Figure 9).

Although the western point of the Polygonal Formation is smooth and blunted - its overall shape is still very close to the shape of the Pentagon in DC.

Looking just below the Segmented Formation with Circle and Square Mound towards the south eastern end of the Raptor Zone Complex, there is another highly symmetrical square-shaped mound, with a truncated ramp or platform (Figure 10).

The Square Pyramid with Truncated Platform has an uncanny resemblance to a massive pyramidal mound produced on the other side of the world, at Sechin Alto, Peru (Figure 11). Notice the square shape of the mound and the truncated neck, or ramp feature that extends from the north western side.
