An interesting head-shaped geoglyph - having both avian and serpent-like features - is found in MOC image E15-00427. The formation is located toward the center of the strip and just below the band of lost data - above the darkened crater (43.4 N 119.4 W). The Avian Serpent (Mystic Bird) (crop of MOC image E15-00427 with key) Notice the precise feathering aspects of the head, the rectangular (serpent) eye, the beak (with large fang) and the Mesoamerican-like attached (star) glyph on the back of the head. Isn't it odd how we get to see these things, and those in the "know" hush-up about it. So, I'm wondering on what cosmological scale, is the secret so preserved and for what purpose, or is it upon us to rake/sort through these facets and artifacts to post "ah-ha" moments that in alone, monumental in scope and context? These "anomalies" of time-worn truth, surely represents a much stranger story that has been forgotten how to be told! The responsibility of history... lost through the generations, albeit with religious fervor to reduce contradicting "world-views" The Avian Serpent is a prime example.

A possible Mesoamerican analog to the avian serpent Geoglyph seen on Mars could be an Olmec carving of an avian serpent on monument 5, found at a site in Mexico known as Chalcatzingo. Notice the commonality shared between the features, such as eye and muzzle shape. GJH
