That's an interesting formation Ross.
Where is it located?

This is where it all started... back in 1976. This is the original NASA Viking orbiter image of the Face on Mars (Frame 35A72) released to the public in the summer of 1976. GJH

The MRO HiRISE camera takes new image of one of Carl Sagan’s Elysium Plantitia pyramids that were originally observed in pictures taken by Mariner 9. Note four sided pyramidal shape. HiRISE image: www.uahirise.org/ESP_017574_1965GJH

Here is a crater found in the northern Elysium Planitia area. It is a little more than twice the diameter of the famous Meteor Crater in Arizona. It was formed by the impact and subsequent explosion of a meteorite. Note the round shape of the crater, the thin rim wall and symmetrical ejecta blanket. Now look at the Dome/Crater Notice the thick, uneven crater rim and the large ejecta apron, which appears symmetrical around the two formations. Note also that there is no evidence of an ejecta splash over the dome/mound. The evidence suggests that some time after the crater was created a polygonal dome/mound was constructed next to it. The construction of the mound expanded the scarp and the apparent symmetrical shape of the overall apron. GJH

When the Dome/Crater formation on Mars is rotated 90 degrees the dome appears to be the eroded remains of a profiled head kissing a ring. Notice the nose, lips, ear and the highlighted eye –in the image on the right. GJH

A similar octagon and ring formation (like the Ohio earthwork) was recently discovered with the aid of satellite images taken over the upper Amazon Basin area of Brazil. GJH

Back in 2001 Keith Laney discovered the ruins of a Martian Metropolis - that he compared to the ruins in Giza. Note the common infrastructure. GJH

Although a very poor image, that's an interesting composite-take on the Nefertiti profile.

marsrocks, yes, very interesting markings, this could be a fragment of a decorated structure. Although broken, I like your bird glyphs around the egg form. Is this another parrot? Very nice GJH

Hi ufoteacher, notice the lines and cracks on the feline side of the Cydonia Face project a compartmentalized design often seen in jade masks produced in Mesoamerica. The composite jade feline mask below demonstrates the puzzle-like aspect of these composite faces. Notice the crowned forehead, the rectangular-shaped eye sockets, the muzzle, mane, and flailing tongue. These same compartmentalized features are also seen on the feline side of the Cydonia Face. GJH

Here is Keith Laney's cleaned-up version of the new ESA image of Phobos, released on March 7, 2010, and posted on Laney's web site Hidden Mission on March 19, just hours before his entire site was "OBLITERATED" - gone - "no files, no comments, no images, no discussion board ... no NOTHING! It simply doesn't EXIST anymore." GJH Attachments:

The Cydonia Institute has just posted a new article (on our web site) titled: The Cydonia Aviary. The new article documents a variety of avian-shaped formations seen within the area surrounding the Road Runner geoglyph. Follow link: thecydoniainstitute.com/The-Cydonia-Aviary.phpGJH

A possible Mesoamerican analog to the avian serpent Geoglyph seen on Mars could be an Olmec carving of an avian serpent on monument 5, found at a site in Mexico known as Chalcatzingo. Notice the commonality shared between the features, such as eye and muzzle shape. GJH
