The facial features of the Feline side of the Cydonia Face have linear cracks and edges that give it an overall puzzle-like appearance (Figure 12). These puzzle pieces are the result of a compartmentalized design. When the individual puzzle pieces are colorized, the feline mask on Mars highly resembles the many jade masks produced in ancient Mexico. The Feline side of the Cydonia Face has a zig-zag shaped mane, like a lion. We all now that their are no lions in Mexico, however the Olmec, Maya and Aztec had a mythological feline creature with a mane that they called the Bearded Jaguar (Figure 13).
