I so remember the excitement of the first photos of "THE FACE"... and then photos later on were determined by some one to lack the credibility of the first photo. I have long believed that (some one the Powers that be) decided that the face had to be explained away for that time frame. Earthlings were just not ready yet to be told the truth about the matter.
I having been in U.S. Air Force (air intell photo office ) know full well they are not going to be honest with the public... Why should they? They do not have tp be. and it is none of our business if it is not cleared and declared viewable with truth attached.
My guess has never been verified...but I can assure you that after the first photos were taken (we or someone) went back there and did a low altitude atomic bomb burst over the face.... they did not drop it to detonate on the ground....that would have been too obvious. When our astronauts finally get there (OFFICiALLY) we need to make sure they do a complete radiation scan of the site around the face. They need to do a detailed search for secondary blast debri around the entire face location.
