This clamshell like object was discovered by EJ Wilson - and posted on the Alien Anomalies forum:

It is from Curiosity sol 3:

Interestingly, EJ Wilson discovered this on a large jpeg image which NASA had up - and EJ says they have since removed it and it is no longer available to the public. The jpegs in its place are much worse images. Only the individual sol shot is better:
Anyway, heads up! Those composite pan images NASA is putting up are highly degraded images. Use the raw images if you are serious about getting high quality images.
