Here are two examples of a spherical-shape objects with a triangular base found at different sites on Mars. The first image is from a ridge at Endeavour - taken by the Opportunity rover (Discovered by Gareth Jones) and the second image is from Gale Crater - taken by the Curiosity rover (Discovered by Clunk). George there looks to be carvings on the rock right to the right of your object. I can see a "face" and his upper torso.

Is it possible that these are no more than "caps" that secured the lander's test equipment for landing and have now been pyrotechnically ejected now what it has landed safely?

What I do notice is there are several round rocks in the area. While there aren't any that have a rounded top like the one featured, they do have rounded flat bases. Therefore it would be possible for one such rock to tumble onto a flat piece and become fused in some manner. Later to be thrust up into the position we see now.
I would prefer that it was part of a device or something else, but I think this one might be natural.
