A half-faced geoglyph is found on the Main Pyramid, located in Cydonia. When the geoglyph is cropped and rotated to a vertical presentation, the heads demarcation line can be detected running along the adjoining terrain. When mirrored the head appears to be composed of a full-bearded face with twisting braids, deep set eyes, a nose, and mouth. The head is completed with a Viking-like helmet. When the area seen directly above the Viking portrait is included in the mirrored image - a pair of feathered plumes appear to extend from the Viking's helmet forming two serpents. Notice the serpent's eye and the open mouth - spewing fire and smoke. There is also an opened winged bird formation at the top of the image, diving between the two serpent heads. The art of American Indian artist Abraham Anghik Ruben is currently on exhibit at the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian (Washington DC). Ruben's work contrasts the ancient lives of two northern peoples—the Norse Vikings and Inuit Indians— providing us with a new perspective on the complex history of the North American Arctic. Notice the serpent "horns" on the Viking helmet in his sculpture of Odin is very similar to the serpents protruding from the helmet of the Viking geoglyph on Mars. Exhibit runs through Jan 2, 2013.
