In October 2014 Mean Green provided us with an image (MRO CTX image B18_016653_1919_XN_11N253W) of what he called a possible "Ziggurat Ruin" in the Amenthes Fossae region of Mars (Figure 1). Figure 1 Square Mound with long ramp Notice the square shape of the formation and the long ramp running parallel along its eastern side. The top of the mound is framed by a think band that forms a secondary square. Extending diagonally from one north eastern corer of the square form to the lower south western corner is a serpentine ridge line. GJH

Notice the overall arrangement of small mounds and buttes surrounding the Square Mound creates a square template, while the set of mounds and buttes located below it creates a triangular template (Figure 3). Figure 3 Square and Triangular templates GJH
