Here is a colorized version of Gary's eye-shaped mesa. The overall shape of the mesa takes on the form of bird's body with a folded wing. Notice the birds head on the left side. The head has a flowing crest, an eye and parted beak. A short tail can be seen on the right side. Nice find Gary. GJH Attachments:

Hi all. I am very interested in this photo. I need to know exactly where it is so that I can find it too. As part of an ongoing bit of research this image may prove to be rather important. I can see the bird you mention, but I also see the eye of Ra/Horus.. Horus being a bird from ancient Egyptian culture.. No matter where this image is from, it does match up with something I have found in the 30,000 year old art of Chauvet.. Any help is greatly appreciated

Hello Chauvet. I have asked Gary for additional information about this formation and he will provide a link to the source image as soon as he can.
We are all waiting....

Thanks George it seems he's given us the image with the co-ords, but I'm having hell of a hard time trying to find the site even with those.. must be me doing something wrong. I'm sure we'll get there.

Here is the source image for the Eye Mound Bird formation. Note its stark isolation, again like the Wedge and Dome (Exclamation Mark) formation, it is out in the middle of nowhere... GJH

Here is a close-up view of the Eye Mound Bird formation with an analytical drawing. On closer inspection the "eye-shaped" formation takes on the form of a left facing bird, seen in profile. Note the head includes a decorative oblong eye, a parted beak and long flowing crest. The main area of the mound conforms to the shape of the bird's body, which includes a folded wing, while a short set of tail feathers extend off the mound towards the right side. The body also has what appears to be a pair of "legs" attached to the bottom of the formation, but its feet are missing. GJH

A possible terrestrial match for the type of bird depicted on Gary's Bird Eye View Mound - could be a long crested eagle. The long crested eagle is a small eagle, found in Africa - located in the southern area below the Sahara. Notice the short tail feathers, which are very similar to the tail feathers depicted on the bird seen on the "Birds Eye View Mound" on Mars. GJH

Please tell me that this section of the bird/eye is not an entrance to a tunnel or something..

Hi all... Just to add something that I made a connection with quite a while back. Some of you may know that I have been studying the 30,000 year old cave art of Chauvet and I have written about how it possibly links to ancient Egypt, images on the surface of Earth and, of course, this 'eye' image from Mars. If you want to know more about my finds in Chauvet, please have a look here.. www.grahamhancock.com/forum/MeadsS1.phpHere is what all the fuss is about.. upper left, Chauvet upper right.. obvious.. The lower left brownish coloured image is from the surface of Earth, just below Tehran, near Namak Lake and seen from approx. 60kms UP!!
